James M. Lynch, Jr., MD is our Medical Director.  As a board-certified specialist, he is able to provide a variety of medically necessary tests in order to identify the cause of pain and dysfunction.  Immediate relief for those in pain via oral medications and injections are available, allowing the body to take the first steps towards healing.  Once identification has occurred, correction and prevention are implemented using a combination of conventional medicine, spinal rehabilitation and/or nutritional recommendations.

As Doctors of Chiropractic, we specialize in natural and preventative health care.  Chiropractic is based upon the scientific fact that the nervous system controls the function of each cell, tissue, organ and system of the body.  Nerves allow for smell, taste, touch, hearing, sight, movement and balance as well as controlling the digestive, eliminative, respiratory, glandular, reproductive and circulatory systems.

Our approach to optimal health is to detect, reduce or remove nervous system dysfunction - also known as a vertebral subluxation.  Once you are free of vertebral subluxations, there is less stress on your nervous system and body structure, allowing you to heal at an optimal level.
We have helped thousands of pain sufferers who were once labeled as "incurable", attain and maintain a pain-free and drug-free life!  Sharing in the successful results of the care we provide, is motivational and rewarding.

J.P. and Dipa conduct complete assessment of the muscle, nerve and joint system based upon the recommendation of a Medical Physician.  Once assessment is complete, an individualized rehabilitation program is designed and implemented.

Individualized treatment programs may include one or a combination of the following therapies:

  • Electric Muscle Stimulation - A low voltage, high frequency electrical current is utilized to reduce muscle spasm and provide pain relief.  It is also used in the re-education of injured muscles.
  • Ultrasound - Uses high frequency (ultrasonic) sound waves to promote the healing of injured tissues by reducing swelling, decreasing muscle spasms and relieving pain.
  • Cryotherapy - Ice is used to reduce the pain, swelling and inflammation associated with acute injuries.
  • Thermotherapy - Moist heat is effective in relieving muscle spasms and increasing the elasticity and pliability of muscle tissues.  Heat also promotes healing by increasing local blood flow.
  • Massage Therapy - Loosens tight muscles, breaks up scar tissue and aids in the removal of body toxins.
  • Trigger Point Release (Myofacial Release) - A manual technique used to reduce specific "muscle bundles".  This therapy is effective in reducing muscle spasm and restoring muscle to their natural length.
  • Traction - A method of removing pressure on nerves thus restoring normal nerve flow.  Traction reduces pressure on discs and helps to restore the natural curvature of the spine.

  • Bike - Used to improve cardiovascular fitness.  The bike, recumbent in style enables patients to sit supported.
  • Treadmill - Also used to improve cardiovascular fitness as well as helpful in gait training.  As a physical therapist, I break down how you walk and decipher if your pain is related to your gait.
  • Multi-sized balls are used to increase range of motion, strength and improve dynamic spinal stability by training the nervous system.
  • Weights are utilized to strengthen both the abdominal and low back muscles.  This machine combines flexion and extension motions to help correct low back injuries.
  • Rubber tubing is used as a means to increase strength.  The system provides different tubing styles, which allow all the joints of the body to be strengthened.  As a patient's strength improves, the thickness of the tubing is modified.

Providing patients with safer and more effective methods of performing daily routine activities will help reduce the risk of injury at home and in the work place.

Patient Education Programs allow for a better understanding of a patient's health problems.  All new patients and their family are invited to attend our bi-monthly programs.  In this way, we can assist our patients and their loved ones in the most effective ways to cope with the problems centering around their pain.
